Monopoly Streets for the Wii review
I'm sure you've played Monopoly at a certain time as a kid or teenager or adult. Isn't this game so much fun?
We love this game and have it as a board game and now thanks to Santa, we have the Wii version of this game.
Lisa and myself actually went out yesterday afternoon to get 2 more Wii remotes so we could play this with the whole family. (Lisa and Abby shared the new pink controller, I know, they have them in pink now too)
- this game has so many possibilities: you can choose from different tabletop boards like Ice board, Jungle board to 3D City boards like Monopoly City and Landmark City. These ones are amazing as it's like you're driving through the city.
- every player gets to choose a token: there's several choices and the more times you play you get to buy more options in the Monopoly store. We've played with the dog, battleship, car, wheelbarrow, shoe, top hat and iron so far, and some of the characters associated with these tokens are funny. The kids had so much fun! You can also get your own Mii to play in this game, you just have to unlock the person in the Monopoly store.
- there's different game options to choose from, the classic Monopoly game, short game, speed die...it just depends on how much time you have to play the game. You can play long, short, with different rules,...
- what I thought was really fun to do was instead of buying a property you can auction a property...my kids got really excited at an auction and ended up paying way more than if they had just bought it,...but the bidding is fun to do. This auction feature adds competitions within the game.
- Then after you've bought all the properties, the same as with the classic board game, you can buy houses, hotels. In the City version, real houses appear!
We've played this Monopoly game a lot in the last 2 days and I beat my hubby every time! Guess what we'll be playing again after dinner (as he thinks he can beat me with a different token and character, yeah right)? My hubby is a little bit of a sore loser so I can't wait to beat him again!

I'm sure you've heard from the game Candy Land before, but did you know it was redesigned for an even sweeter experience?About Candy Land:

Thanks to Hasbro through MyBlogSpark, I was sent a "Party in a Box" Candy Land prize pack. I haven't had time yet (just too many things going on in the weekends to throw a Candy Land party) and with the holidays around the corner this super sweet party will have to wait till the New Year.
Now mind you I almost already have all the things I need for this amazing party.
There will be kids of all different ages at this party and some of Lisa's (my oldest) friends will help with the younger kids.
Hasbro also sent me a Flip camera to post some videos and I can't wait to show you what we have planned for this amazing party!
Here are some of our planned activities so far: there will be a couple of different stations (weather permitting)
- Rainbow Taste Test: kids will be blindfolded and then they will taste white sugar, lemon juice, orange carrots, green broccoli,... something from all colors of the rainbow
- Jelly Bean Drop Pass: we'll have a big jar of jelly beans and kids need to guess how many are in. At the end of the party, the kid who guesses the closest gets to take the jar home.
- Mr. Mint station (if good weather, this will be outside): relay race using spoon and a peppermint. Divide the group in 2 teams and see who will win the race.
- Licorice Castle: kids can make licorice bracelets, red and black licorice and Cheerios for the beads.
Now I've been thinking of making a cake decorated as the game board itself or make lots of cupcakes that the kids can then decorate with candies, sprinkles, etc...
I was thinking of having the kids decorate gingerbread houses but I'm not sure if there will still be kits out there in January?
The houses will be decorated with lots of candy, balloons in bright bold colors!
And you know what? Abby will be the mini hostess. We found a Candy Land dress for her in Kmart and she can't wait to wear it.
My kids have played this game together and they range from ages 12, 9 to 3-years old and they had fun (my 12-year old would probably preferred to play the older version but she was the referee while playing this game so she had a good time).

I got the chance to review one of Collections Etc.'s Items. I received the Nonstick Pancake Pan with Holiday Mold.
With this pan, your pancakes come imprinted with fun Christmas motifs. The nonstick pan makes seven silver-dollar-sized pancakes at a time.
Don't they look amazing?
I tried these last Sunday morning and this is one of those pans that you need to try a couple of times to find the best way to use it. I think I had the pan too hot as my pancakes were slightly burned on the outside and we only had 1 pancake where we could see the motif. I wanted to make the pancakes too fast so had the heat on too hot. We will try these pancakes again tomorrow with some hot chocolate in our Santa cups. I'll let you know how they turn out.

11 days to go and then we're in the New Year! Have you already thought about your New Year's resolutions? I bet you, a lot of you are thinking about losing those last couple of pounds. It sure is on my list as I want to lose my last couple of pounds before I go home to Belgium and England next Summer.

Five more days to go and then it's Christmas! The only thing still left to do is wrapping our presents. I know, I know, I was going to do it yesterday but the washing took way longer yesterday and today I still haven't done the wrapping. I'll get there, I always do.
Although I think I've got most of the things done in advance I know I'll still have last-minute stress but that's part of the holiday madness, isn't it?
