Choking Prevention

Last October I did a review/giveaway on the Safe Sizer Choking Prevention plate from Midwest Monkeys.

This plate makes sure you cut up your pieces of food to a SAFE size for your little one to eat without choking on it.
Well, the American Academy of Pediatrics has issued a policy statement that, among other things, is asking the FDA to require labels on "dangerous" foods that pose a particular choking hazard to children. It's being covered by CNN Health among many other outlets. While the AAP may not get labels any time soon, they still recommend the 1/2 inch size for hard foods on their new parenting website called Healthy Children.

For all parents out there with smaller children, check out the below links with very helpful information and things you might not even realize is a choking risk.
