Need for Speed Nitro: review

Last year (doesn't that sound super long ago already?) we were sent a copy of Need For Speed NITRO for the Wii to review.
I have to admit when I was contacted I wasn't sure what to expect, I didn't know what Need For Speed NITRO was but after asking my friends I was told this was going to be a super cool game! I was excited when the game arrived and so were my hubby and kids. They couldn't wait to get this game going.
About Need for Speed Nitro:
Customize your car, take corners at 200mph, and own your opponents. Need for Speed NITRO delivers the fun and xhilaration of high-speed racing with deep and challenging gameplay, where racing skills are not the only way to victory.
Master advanced techniques such as building up boost by taking risks on the road, then use it at the right moment to take the lead. But don't forget about the cops, who will do everything they can to disrupt the race. And for the ultimate bragging rights, impose your graphical style on the world when you lead.
However you choose to race, never count on victory until you've crossed the finish line.

We initially didn't have the steering wheels but you can easily play this game with just the remote. Luckily Santa Claus brought us 2 steering wheels and I have to say it's way better and cooler to play the Need for Speed NITRO with the wheels, it just makes it more real I guess.
I always knew I had some racer in me as I'm pretty good at it. This game definitely isn't just for boys, us girls can keep up for sure!!!

When playing the game you have the option to choose from 3 categories of cars: supercars (of course they are the fastest), performance cars and commercial cars. You can customize your cars, you can choose from different colors, select a graffiti that will represent you. Add different parts to your car, all is possible. Mine is a pink, VW van with flowers all over it.

Now as we all know street racing is illegal (which I have to tell you I reminded my 8-year old, this is just a game) and therefore this game has police interference throughout. The cops will try to damage and stop your car in the game.

There's several options to choose from to play. In Arcade you select an event, choose the track, pick out your car and off you go. In career mode you can tag the world as you race, each victory will give you the resources to buy better, more powerful cars.
You have to try and win a race to earn stars and build up your star count to unlock new cities, new events, new ways to customize your cars.

The game has endless options and is super fun to play! I have to say I might have a competitive streak in me. I love to beat my hubby, although it doesn't happen all the time, it's really cool to play. Although this game is rated 10+, I have to say I had no problems in letting my 8-year old son play this game.
Now words might not explain it well enough so here's a trailer for you to watch.

If you're looking for a cool game to play on the Wii, you can certainly consider the Need for Speed NITRO.

Need for Speed NITRO is rated everyone 10+ mild lyrics and mild violence and can be bought at the EA store for $49.95. This game is also available for the Nintendo DS.

Thank you so much to EA and Rocket XL for the chance to play and review this game!!!

Happy New Year. Thanks for your review. I don't have any Wii racing games. Sounds like fun.
