Before we moved here 5 years ago we had 2 blonde Golden Retrievers called Targa and Shearer (brother and sister). We discovered 1 month before we were moving to the US that Shearer (the male) was sick and wouldn't survive the fight so we had to make a decision to either take Targa and leave Shearer behind or find a family that would take them both.
It's not easy finding a family to take 2 dogs let alone 2 dogs of which one was sick and needed to be on medication for the rest of his life. 1 week before we were moving we found a family with 2 daughters that wanted to take both!!! It couldn't have been a better match!
We kept regular contact and lots of pictures and videos were send to us to see.
Today we got the email that Shearer passed away. He was 12,5 years old and was loved by loads.
We're all very sad and I'm not sure how I'm going to tell my kids.
Shearer, you'll be missed!

I'm so sorry for your loss - I too have a blond Golden that looks a lot like your dog. She's my third Golden. My first passed away at 10 yrs, my second at 7 yrs. I swore I'd never get another Golden - I wanted something smaller, and with less hair. But I ended up with another Golden - she is a love and I don't regret getting her. I know how heart broken you must be to lose your beloved pet. They make a family complete.
OM I am so sorry for your loss. How wonderful for that family to take them on knowing your dog was sick. Poor baby!
Wow, that is amazing they were willing to take both of your dogs. That shows what a great family they are! It must be a little comforting knowing that he got to live out his remaining time with a wonderful, caring family.
I am so sorry about your loss. I know how hard it is losing a pet. They are truly a part of the family and will always be missed!
He's a beautiful little love. I feel for you.
