living abroad

I love living in Oregon but there's times I don't and this is one of them. Last weekend my mother-in-law passed away in England and we weren't there. We wanted to go home to England and Belgium this Summer but with a family of 5 and the current prices, we just couldn't afford it.
So now I feel guilty, if we had just gone, we would have seen her one last time, although she wouldn't have realized.
My mother-in-law had Alzheimer's. She was a beautiful, compassionate and loving mom, husband and friend to many and she will truly be missed.
My husband flew to England yesterday and although the kids and me can't be there, we will think about her all the time.

Aww. So sorry to hear this. We live far from family too and it's been difficult.

I haven't seen my mother's mom in almost 5 years, and we used to be really close. So, of course, I am terrified that she will pass before I get the chance to hug her neck once again. I just lost my other grandmother, and i hadn't seen her in almost a year. Thankfully, though, I made a point to take a trip to her house about 2 weeks before she passed. I had no idea it would be the last time.
I am so sorry for your loss. Regret is painful by itself, even without the complications of losing a loved one. I hope you can find peace and solace in your time of grief. >Best wishes< You & your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

So sorry for your loss.
Do not feel bad about those things you can neither control nor change.

Have a blessed day
