With lots of sadness in my heart I have to tell you that after Shearer died a week and a half ago, now also Targa (his sister) passed away last Sunday. She died from a viral infection, but in my heart I believe she died cause Shearer had passed away. They had never been apart in the 12.5 years.
I am (and forever will be) very grateful for Joop, Romy, Lianne and Inka to take care of Targa and Shearer when we moved to the US and we couldn't take the dogs.
Targa and Shearer were so happy with them and were so loved!!!

I'm so sorry to hear it, but you're right, I'm sure they couldn't bear to be apart. Such a great picture, they look like such sweeties!
I'm so sorry, friend. (((hugs)))
Those dogs are beautiful. I'm so sorry for your loss.
I'm sure they needed to be together. But how the owners suffer when our furry pals pass away.
I feel your loss and am so sorry.
Along with everyone else's comments I also am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I know how rough it is to leave the loved one(s) behind and then lose them. I truly truly feel your sorrow and thank you for sharing their and your story. Inspiring.
I'm sorry for your loss!
Ann, thank you for these kind words, it was no trouble at all, from the first day we loved Targa and Shearer and where glad to be able to take care of them.
Targa and Shearer where great friends and part of our family. We will truly missed them.
Joop, Romy, Lianne and Inka Pol
Oh, I am sorry to hear about this. Dogs can become family when you have them. You know they lived happy lives and that is something to take comfort in, but it doesn't necessarily make your heart hurt any less. {{Hugs}} from me too.
