===========================================

I was pleased when I was contacted by MathTutorDVD.com to review their Young Minds - Numbers and Counting DVD.
Abby's been trying to count and can count to about 7, sometimes further so I was curious how she would react to this DVD.

What is this DVD all about?
MathTutorDVD.com has created this DVD to introduce small children to the joys of learning math at a young age. This DVD teaches young children to count from 1 to 10 by way of classical music, photographs and video.
Numbers are animated to fly-in from off screen and show your child how to count by counting objects that they are naturally interested in.
Animals such as frogs, horses, jellyfish, sharks, whales and more are shown to the viewer along with the animal sounds. Colors are also taught by pointing out the color of objects on the screen.

Sample of objects presented:
* animals with animal sounds
* fruits and vegetables along with their colors
* machines that move such as trucks, airplanes along with their sounds

The central idea of this video is to teach children numbers and counting while at the same time teaching them the names of animals, machines and other objects along with their associated sounds and colors. This integrated learning approach keeps children interested and promotes continued learning.
The DVD is set to classical music pieces by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin,...

All I can say is WOW to the screens and colors they used! The quality is amazing and it's not a boring DVD, the screens keep changing, several animals are used so for Abby it wasn't just about the counting but also the animals.
Here are some pictures I took while the DVD was on, she really loved the hummingbird and Nemo!

Their's some gorgeous pictures (this one just wants me to start eating the apples!):

And counting by numbers of course...

This DVD is a lot of fun for younger children. Lisa and Jamie are way past it but loved making the animal noises with Abby.

As you can see on MathTutorDVD.com, there's a lot more DVD's out there like Algebra, Geometry, Physics,... and more.
This DVD is available on Amazon for $17,99.

I would save this for my daughter. She's only 6 months, but I'm sure she'd enjoy it in another year or so.
